Your Wellspring of Vitality

As we move into summer, I’m reminded of travels to distant places. One destination that fondly comes to mind is Rome. Most guidebooks include one essential stop in the Eternal City: the Trevi Fountain.

In truth, many world cities can probably boast of having a “must-see” fountain, which leads me to a question:

Is a fountain more than just a water fixture?

Is there something deeper going with our fascination in marble sculptures of endlessly-flowing water?

In a world that often seems chaotic and demanding, maybe on some level we see the fountain as a metaphor for the wellspring of life that resides within us. A wellspring that is deep-seated, pure, and refreshing.

Perhaps the most famous fountain in popular culture is the Fountain of Youth. Just as this fountain is believed to grant everlasting vitality, we also possess an inherent source of energy and creativity that is constantly replenished from within.

And we don’t have to go searching for that vitality outside of us. It’s right where we are. I am that fountain, as are you.

In Science of Mind, we affirm the Truth that we are creators of our reality. Each of us is an individualized expression of the universal life force, infused with boundless potential and innate vitality. When we fully embrace this Truth, we tap into that wellspring of creative power that exists within us, enabling us to manifest our deepest desires and live a life of purpose and fulfillment.

We just began our “Your Book Now” workshop, and one of the principles we discussed was the idea that our creative lives are infinite and ever-flowing.

I like to think that the books we write in the class are already created in the Quantum Field, and our “work,” if you even want to call it that, is to allow the creative energy to flow though us. Like a spring.

To awaken your inner vitality this month, try to find moments where you reflect on your own wellspring of vitality. Visit the ocean. Find a local fountain. Jump in the backyard pool. Stomp in a June-gloom puddle.

As you do, reflect on the abundance of life that flows within you and remember who you really are: a conduit for limitless creativity. As you embrace your true essence as a dynamic and creative being, you’ll discover the wellspring of vitality that is always available to you.

Thinking of vitality this way, you might say I’m just a giant Trevi fountain, full of creative expression. I only have to decide what form my creativity will take, and it will flow through me, as me. That’s who I am. And so are you. And so it flows. And so it is.
