From Yo-Yo to Know-Know
Dr. Liza Marquez
Last week I finished C.P.R, the 30 day Core Prosperity Relief challenge, with Dr. James and about 40 other people. It was quite an exciting and thought provoking month long venture. And while the weeks were filled with "AHA" after "AHA," what really stuck and continues to stay with me is this notion of how easily mixed messages can enter into our consciousness and create in our world.
These mixed messages come from everywhere; they come from people we know, our society at large, and mostly they come as internal dialogue, a lot of times we aren't even aware of what we are suggesting to ourselves or how that suggestion arrived.
Yesterday, I shared with my fifteen year old daughter that my talk title this coming Sunday was going to be, “From Yo-Yo to Know-Know” and her response was “Oh, mom, that's cringy!” Suddenly, I found myself not only re-thinking my talk title, but my entire talk. Sadly, my inward dialogue asked “When did I become UNCOOL?????” And just like that doubt crept in...on different fronts!
To be honest, it didn't take long for me to laugh it off, continue working on the talk I had chosen, and remember that I AM cool (at least in my own Mind...where it counts!). But, it did give me pause to reflect on how easily we can inadvertently allow innocuous comments to have an effect on what we think. We yo-yo in thinking and believing in ourselves. And, those yo-yo thoughts then have an effect on what we (yo-yo) create.
Ernest Holmes says, "Trained thought is far more powerful than untrained thought." The key here is that NO MATTER WHAT ... thought is powerful. However, we must remember that trained thought is “far more powerful.”'
I would much rather be creating from the space of MY trained thought than someone else's uninvited opinion. Because giving any creed to “univinted opinions” is a form of mixed messages.
So, how do we stop the infiltration? How do we "train" our thoughts? It begins when we get CLEAR about who we are. When we KNOW-KNOW that I AM "the entire ocean in a drop", as Rumi says; or that "my eye and God's eye is ONE eye", as Meister Ekhart says; or when we "stop believing in God and start believing AS God," as Neville Goddard says, we will have the power of not just trained thoughts, but of a Life trained to deliver our desires! Now, THAT'S a way to experience a prosperous Life!
